Saint John the Evangelist

The loved Apostle

Saint John Evangelist was the most innocent and chaste of the Apostles. He followed Jesus Christ since a very young age, without looking presumptuously at an unknown tomorrow. He was the only one who followed Christ at the Crucifixion; instead of fearing the Romans and Jews, he only cared of being close to His Lord. He had great devotion to Mary and under the instructions of Christ in the Cross, he was for Her a son. After the Resurrection, he preached the Word of God with enthusiasm. He was scourged and tortured with burning oil, but he survived miraculously. He wrote one of the 4 Gospels, in order to combat the heretics who deny the Divinity of their Savior.

Saint John is a Saint worthy of imitation, if we can not imitate his innocence, at least we must imitate his mortification, his chastity and his perfect charity.
