Clapping like a seal is not an appropriate way of worshipping what is meant to be the Body of Christ. (for those who don't know, the novus ordo mass is invalid)
I'm sure they mean well, but it's just not Catholicism. Anybody can be expressive in joy or whatever, but it may be a way of drowning out a certain inner voice; one which is not serene.
